Director of Clinical Services

Tammy qualified as a Registered Nurse following a 4-year Diploma in Nursing (General, Psychiatry and Community) and Midwifery in South Africa. She relocated to London in 2006 and has worked in several large NHS Trusts, holding various clinical, educational and leadership roles within Intensive Care, from Staff Nurse to Head of Nursing.

Her passion for lifelong learning led her to complete her BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing Practice (Intensive Care) and her Post Graduate Certificate (PGCE) in Practice Education at Southbank University of London.  Most recently she had the opportunity to attend the beautiful Henley Business School, University of Reading, and achieved her Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA).

Following a 20-year career in Intensive Care, she made the exciting decision to join Woking & Sam Beare Hospice in May 2023 as Director of Clinical Services. She remains active on the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Register as an Adult Registered Nurse and Teacher.

As part of her role at the Hospice, Tammy also holds the responsibility of Registered Manager, Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer and she is the Caldicott Guardian.

Her passion is staff health and wellbeing as she believes that happy and healthy staff lead to better quality patient care, improved patient and carer experience and effective and efficient services for our community.

She lives locally with her husband and her two adored Maine Coon cats. She loves cooking, spending time with family and friends, reading and country walks.
