Katie Doyle

In-patient Unit Manager

Katie completed her Diploma in Nursing in 2011 at Brighton University after being led to nursing through a passion for helping others.

She chose to pursue a career in Oncology inspired by the journey her Nan went on with lung cancer, loosing her at just 61 years old when Katie was only 12.

Through her career she has worked on the Oncology ward, Chemotherapy Day unit, Haematology ward, Teenage and Young Adult ward getting the full range of experiences including qualifying in Chemotherapy administration. For the 6 years prior to starting at Woking and Sam Beare hospice Katie was an Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist. Through this role Katie completed her Advanced Physical Assessment and Cancer Care module at Masters level. Acute Oncology covers all aspects of the cancer pathway from early diagnosis, treatment, complications and palliative care. With this extensive knowledge and alongside her dedication towards high standards of care, positive working environments, and a desire for leading innovation and change she was ready for a change which brought her to starting here at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice in April 2023 as the Inpatient Unit Manager.

Outside of work Katie has a young family that enjoy all outside pursuits: horse riding, cycling, hiking, and snowboarding. As well as being surrounded by animals, 1 dog, 2 cats and 3 chickens to be exact! As will as regular visits to the horses.
