Woking & Sam Beare Hospice’s Woodland Walk

On Sunday 17th October over 500 participants arrived at the Mclaren Technology Centre ready to take part in the Hospice Woodland Walk on either a 5 or 10 mile route, across Fairoaks Airport, past Heather farm, through Horsell Common and back to Mclaren.

The atmosphere was amazing as people of all ages gathered in the event village ready to take on the challenge, walking together to remember loved ones and to raise vital funds for the Hospice. The air was filled with anticipation and laughter as the first sets of walkers were led in a fun warm up by Emma Goodman-Horne from Emergy FIT and then a moment of reflection as the Hospice’s new patron Peter Egan delivered a wonderful speech and cut the purple ribbon to signify the beginning of the Hospice Woodland Walk.

“It was really amazing and very special to host our first large scale event for over 2 years this weekend and the community really did pull out all the stops to support the event and get behind it. We are incredibly grateful to our event sponsors Trident Honda, McLaren and our volunteers for all their support in enabling the event to happen.
