Supporter update on Fundraising activity

As a consequence of the restrictions put in place due to the pandemic we had to cancel two of our largest events that would originally have taken place in June the Midnight Walk and Dragon Boat Race.

Cancellation of those two events means a lost opportunity to engage and see our supporters and it is has also had a huge financial impact on us. Those two events alone generate a combined income of over £80k for the Hospice and we know that replacing that income is going to be challenging for us.

As lockdown eases however we are adapting our events plans for the next 6 to 12 months and we will be sharing our plans very soon on how you can still take part in a Midnight Walk and a Dragon Boat Race in support of Woking & Sam Beare Hospice over the summer and autumn months. So please do keep checking our website and social media for more details. We very much want to work with you our loyal and committed supporters to ensure there is still an opportunity to engage with you all again in some way, to bring smiles back to people’s faces and raise some much needed funds for our charity that plays such a vital role within our communities.

We are also working on some new challenge events that you can take part in whilst still complying with the current social distancing rules.

Thank you as always for your continued and loyal support. Working together as one community we are stronger.

Thank you
