Our Midnight Walk 2018 even reached the USA
A group of ladies named ‘Steph’s Striders’ will be taking part in the Woking & Sam Beare Hospices annual Midnight Walk on Friday 28 September in memory of their good friend Steph who sadly passed away at the hospice in April this year, but they won’t all be walking in the UK.
Carol Cornish from Windlesham has signed up to the Midnight Walk for the first time but will be in Seattle visiting her family in September so she has come up with a unique way to still complete the eight miles.
Starting at 2pm Seattle time which will be the 10pm start of the walk in the UK Carol wearing her flashing bunny ears and Midnight Walk t-shirt will start at Lake Washington walk down town by the sea to Carillion Point and back again which will covering eight miles. Steph’s Striders will Facetime each other during the walk so they experience the walk together in memory of their friend.
“Steph loved taking part in the Midnight Walk and we want to do this for her” commented Carol “It is so important to support the work of the hospice it is such a calm, caring and amazing place”
Online registration is now closed for the Midnight Walk but if you would like to join us and walk in memory of a loved one or to support the work of Woking & Sam Beare Hospices you can register on the night between 9-9.30pm sign up fee is £25 per walker.
