Tuesday 05 December 2017 – we were delighted to welcome HRH The Countess of Wessex on a tour of our brand new Woking Hospice.

Her Royal Highness met some of our supporters who have a very personal connection to the hospice, she visited the ward and met with patients and staff, with a very special treat for one patient who celebrates her 70th birthday today.

We were also delighted to be able to show her our Bradbury Wellbeing Centre, where she was able to take part in some of the activities and grant the life-long wish of one of our day patients who had always wanted to meet a member of the Royal Family.

HRH’s visit concluded with a special ceremony attended by The Mayor and Mayoress of Woking, key supporters of the new build project and our Trustees and other dignitaries. Our CEO Jayne Cooper invited HRH to unveil our official opening plaque and to sign our visitors book, she was then presented with a posy of flowers by Chloe Boyes [13] who we have supported since the loss of her father.

It was a truly wonderful morning and HRH The Countess of Wessex has left some very special memories with the patients and their families that she met. We are therefore delighted to be able to share some of the pictures from this special royal event.
